On a warm Wednesday morning this week, eighteen young people gathered at the Earle May Boat Basin on the banks of the Flint River to celebrate something that felt a little like magic: they are seniors. The second-ever senior class at Spring Creek Charter Academy in Bainbridge, Georgia, kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with a tradition called "Senior Sunrise" — decorating their cars, watching the sky turn gold, and reminding their community that something extraordinary is quietly growing in Decatur County.

Spring Creek Charter Academy is a public charter school located at 2501 Vada Road in Bainbridge.
