Free Healthy Fair and 100+ Food Vendors: Your Augusta, GA Weekend, Nov. 6-8

If your weekend plans need a little purpose and a lot of good food, Augusta has you covered. On Saturday morning, a free community health fair opens its doors in Richmond County, and all weekend long, downtown Augusta turns into a food lover's playground. Pair them up and you can look after your health and support your hometown in the same few days.

Pull up a chair and let's walk through what we verified, who it's for, and how to make the most of it. For more neighborhood news from across the South, keep an eye on Around The Village.

What's Happening Around the Village

Richmond/Columbia County Healthy Fair: Saturday, Nov. 7

The Richmond/Columbia County Healthy Fair runs Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Via Cognitive Health (the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer's Care), 105 Lutheran Drive, Augusta, GA 30907. According to the organizer, Comfort Keepers North Augusta, the fair is free, open to the public and made for all ages. Parking is free too.

The goal is to encourage and educate the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) community on how to live a safe, healthy and active lifestyle. A listing in The Augusta Chronicle's local events calendar says guests can find community vendors and resources, including free health screenings, and the East Central Health District also lists the fair on its public calendar.

This isn't a first-year experiment, either. The organizer says the fair has been going for more than 10 years, with one event in North Augusta and one in Richmond/Columbia County each year, and it expects roughly 200 to 400 neighbors to stop by. Vendor lineups can shift from year to year, so go with an open mind and see what's on the tables.

Foodees Fest: Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8

Right downtown, Foodees Fest brings more than 100 food vendors, plus crafters and artisans, to Reynolds Street in Augusta from Nov. 6 to 8. Hours are Friday 1 to 7 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Admission is free because the festival is supported by its vendors. Organizers ask you to register for a free ticket so vendors can plan how much food to bring, though they say you can still attend without registering. Registering also enters you in a drawing for a free meal, a swag bag and more.

A few practical notes from the festival's own FAQ: it is all ages, rain or shine unless severe weather makes it unsafe, and friendly, leashed pets are welcome. Most vendors take both cards and cash, and seating varies, so tuck a lawn chair in the trunk if you like a guaranteed spot.

Why It Matters

Plenty of us put off health questions until something starts to hurt. A free, neighborly setting can make it easier to ask, learn and take one small step, whether that's finding out about a resource or simply meeting someone who can point you in the right direction. If you missed our story on free care closer to Greene County, you can catch up on the Greensboro free dental care day.

Food festivals matter for a different reason. Foodees Fest says every stop has hometown businesses right alongside regional and national ones, which means your lunch can help a local cook, baker or food truck owner keep the lights on.

How This Impacts Our Community

  • Families: A free, all-ages morning and a free, all-ages festival keep the weekend budget-friendly.

  • Seniors and caregivers: Hosting the fair at an Alzheimer's care center puts health resources in a place that already understands the needs of older adults and the people who care for them.

  • Small food businesses and makers: More than 100 vendors means plenty of chances for local entrepreneurs to meet new customers.

  • Neighbors across the region: Augusta sits at the heart of the CSRA, so folks from Columbia County, North Augusta and nearby communities can easily make a day of it.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Show up Saturday morning. Drop by the Healthy Fair between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and bring a short list of questions, plus any health numbers you already know.

  • Register for Foodees Fest. Grab your free ticket on the festival's Augusta page so the vendors know how many hungry neighbors to expect.

  • Bring a neighbor. Offer a ride to an older neighbor, a caregiver or a friend who doesn't usually hear about community events.

  • Eat local on purpose. Ask vendors where they're based, and try at least one new dish from a small business.

  • Business owners, take note. Foodees Fest says it is now accepting food vendor applications for its 2027 festival at foodeesfest.com/lineup. Health and wellness businesses interested in future Healthy Fairs can start with the organizer's Eventbrite page.

  • Share the news. Forward this story to your church group, school group or family chat before the weekend starts.
